2019: Handling Threats in the Workplace
If you were to have a threat on your premises, are you prepared? Regardless of the weapon being used or the specific threat, protection and safety must be the priority. The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce will be offering a "Handling Threats in the Workplace" training session on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 8:30-10:00 AM. This is a 90-minute course that we hope you will never need. In the event you are faced with a threatening situation, you will be glad that you attended! The Presenter will also review proactive steps that businesses can take to decrease risks of occurences. This class will be led Chris Boyd, owner of B & B Security Assessment.
About the Presenter:
Chris Boyd started his career with the City of Fort Smith in 1993 and became a law enforcement officer in 1995. In 1997, he applied and tested for SWAT. He served in many capacities such as Narcotics Investigator, Property Crimes, Homicide Investigation, Community Policing and BEAT Health. All of these responsibilities ran concurrent with SWAT. He served 20 years and 2 months as a SWAT Operator and retired as such in June 2017. At the end of his career he was serving as SWAT Team Leader, Search and Rescue Team Leader and Field Training Team Leader. He also served over 12 years as an Active Shooter Instructor and Academy Instructor. He pioneered the current curriculum and taught to Law Enforcement, Military, Fire and EMS.
Now as a private citizen, he has turned his years of experience to a preparedness course for private citizens and businesses.
