Volunteer Manager & Community Outreach

 

Reports to: Program Director 

 

Description: 

While serving families with the highest level of customer service and integrity, this position is responsible for overseeing the Volunteer Program and assisting with  operations of the Ronald McDonald House® (RMH) and/or the Ronald McDonald Family Room® (RMFR).  Duties include but are not limited to: scheduling, recruiting & training of  volunteers, housekeeping, inventory & collection of food and supplies, ensure all rules and guidelines of the Ronald McDonald House® and/or the Ronald McDonald Family Room® are adhered to by all staff, volunteers and guests.  The Volunteer Manager will work directly with Development as needed and represent RMHC of Arkoma in the community. This position will perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Program Director.

 

Hours: 

This is a non-exempt, full-time position working at least 40 hours per week/80 hours per pay period.  Regular shift is Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5p.m. with occasional week night and weekend hours required.


Responsibilities:

  • Represent RMHC in a professional, knowledgeable manner 

  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding  and training for all volunteers 

  • Assist Development Director with annual fundraising events 

  • Maintain and enhance training manual for volunteers 

  • Updating profiles in multiple software programs 

  • Assist Program Director with monthly schedules 

  • Steward and recognize volunteers through different avenues; birthday’s, thank you’s, milestones, etc..

  • Plan and execute annual volunteer recognition event 

  • Attend monthly staff operations and committee meetings (when available) to be a part of decisions and remain engaged in the happenings of the Programs

  • Represent RMHC at community events- including gathering of materials, set up and tear down

  • Compile monthly and annual reports in respective areas  

  • Demonstrate regular interaction with donors 

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new donors while stewarding and growing existing donors

  • Ensure proper procedures are followed when working with donors 

  • Attend regular team meetings with RMHC of Arkoma management team

  • Other duties as assigned by President & CEO

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ability to interact and communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Flexibility of schedule as this position manages a facility that is open 24 hours each day, 365 days per year

  • Strong record keeping and organizational skills; detail oriented

  • Ability to anticipate issues and/or conflicts before they happen and address them proactively

  • Experience with a non-profit; working with volunteers or a related field 

  • Willingness to be involved in the community

  • Ability to fundraise for both in kind donations and monetary donations 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and participate in a TB Test, drug screening and criminal background check
