GUEST SERVICE SALES ASSOCIATE (GSA)
JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: SALES ASSOCIATE (SA) DEPARTMENT: STORE OPERATIONS REPORTING TO: SALES MANAGER (SM)
SALES ASSOCIATE POSITION SUMMARY: This partner is required to perform many functions within the store, including, but not limited to, supporting our mission, as we seek to passionately support the growth and development of our small businesses, assisting guests, moving inventory, operating computers/cash wrap, placing custom orders, handling money, following instructions from supervisors, and communicating effectively with other partners. Flexibility is essential. This increased level of service on the sales floor will not only result in higher metrics for these specific areas, but also dollars per transaction, sales, loyalty and guest satisfaction.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates understanding of Small Businesses brands and products.
- Model excellent guest service skills, anticipating guests’ needs, suggesting alternatives, problem- solving, and able to satisfy those needs with a minimum amount of supervision
- Asks questions and makes appropriate product recommendations based on guest needs
- Consistent, excellent selling behaviors to achieve both company initiatives and small business metrics
- Utilizes best practice words, phrases, materials as outlined in training videos, materials and or as directed by the store manager
- Explains clearly and completely services available to guests and our guest loyalty programs
- Handles guest custom orders and assist in placing orders
- Accept payment and makes change, wraps / bags merchandise for guests
- Displays friendly, uncompromising hospitality, including greeting guests within 10 seconds of entering store
- Always displays proper phone etiquette
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must complete all required training, on-boarding and assist in training other partners
- Must participate fully in all company business metrics and company focused business drivers
- Operates the PPOS (cashwrap), cash management and / or banking
- Communicates change in a positive way that gains support from others
- Maintain a positive attitude and flexibility in the midst of change
- Provides accurate, timely stocking of goods, communicates in-stock on bestsellers, advertised items to SM or ICS
- Maintains loss prevention and audit procedures
- Keeps the store clean & orderly and follows all visual guidelines.
- Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other partners in performing store functions
- Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in yearly inventory
- Performs all other duties as needed or requested
MINIMUM ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED TO PERFORMING THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Physical stamina sufficient to stand during entire shift, excluding rest breaks
- Physical stamina sufficient to move and lift 50 pound boxes
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation, instruction, persuasion, or speaking with others
- Ability to multi-task in a high stress environment
- Ability to assist Store Manager in all areas, including leading, directing and supervising partners
- Ability to perform the General Duties and Responsibilities in a consistent and efficient manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18 years old.
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
