For Immediate Release
Fort Smith, Arkansas. Friday, February 1, 2019. The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the selected winners of its 2018 Healthy Workplace Award Winners at its February First Friday Breakfast. The event was held at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Brandon Bullard, COO & VP of Finance, Baptist Health-Fort Smith & Van Buren and the Healthcare Committee Chair for the Fort Smith Chamber presented the awards for the winners.
Each year the Chamber extends appreciation and recognizes businesses that show a commitment to health and wellness in the workplace. There are countless reasons why companies should implement and promote healthy workplace activities. Most importantly it is a cost-effective way to thank and honor valued employees. Businesses that participate in a wellness program are encouraged to apply for the annual Healthy Workplace Award. The businesses may apply in three different categories; small, medium, and large and are graded on a point system in the following: wellness program, leadership application and support, promoting health and wellness to employees, company support and participation outside the workplace, and measurement on the outcome of the programs.
We want to thank the following businesses that applied for our 2018 award year and continue to demonstrate their commitment to helping their employees to be healthy: ArcBest, Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care, Baptist Health – Fort Smith, Ingersoll Rand/Trane, Martin’s Heating & Air, Methodist Village, Nabholz, Nestle/Gerber, United Federal Credit Union, and USA Truck
