Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Gives $2,500 to The Salvation Army
Donation to Assist with Utility Relief

FORT SMITH, Arkansas
 – Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corporation (AOG) is contributing $2,500 to the Salvation Army.  This fund aligns with the company’s recent announcement to focus on relief efforts for those who have suffered from the devastating financial, educational and health impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. These funds will support area individuals and families who need utility assistance.

“We assist thousands of people annually in the surrounding Fort Smith area with the basic necessities of life - food, shelter, and warmth. Utility assistance is one of our social services programs where we are seeing increased requests for assistance due to job loss amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” said, Susan Adams, Director of Development.
“Thanks to AOG’s support, the Salvation Army can respond rapidly to the increased utility assistance needs.”

“AOG is proud to assist with this relief effort,” said Kim Linam, Chief Administrative Officer, Arkansas Oklahoma Gas. “We understand that we are all in this together. The Salvation Army plays a critical role in the River Valley area providing a vast amount of resources to struggling Arkansas / Oklahoma families who might otherwise go without during this unprecedented health crisis. Providing these utility relief resources is one way that we can support our customers and community members who are immediately impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.”
The company has committed twenty thousand dollars overall to COVID-19 relief efforts in Arkansas/Oklahoma. In addition to donating to The Salvation Army, the company is also contributing to the United Way of the Fort Smith Area
COVID Response Fund, Area Agency on Aging, Community Services Clearinghouse, and  Disabled American Veterans Fort Smith Chapter.

On top of providing financial support to nonprofit organizations and supplying Wi-Fi hotspots to a variety of area school districts throughout its service territories. AOG has also suspended natural gas disconnections for nonpayment and is working with customers who may need payment assistance, arrangements, or extensions.

About Arkansas Oklahoma Gas
AOG provides natural gas service to approximately 60,000 residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. We've been serving the residential and commercial customers in Fort Smith and the surrounding area with safe and reliable natural gas service for nearly 75 years.
Based in Fort Smith in the heart of the Arkoma Basin, this area is rich in natural gas production. That gives us the ability to access and transport natural gas produced from local wells. These local supplies, in combination with our ability to obtain natural gas from interstate pipelines, enable us to provide reliable natural gas service to all our customers.
In 2017, AOG joined a larger group of natural gas utilities when it combined with Summit Utilities, Inc. This added expertise to the team, as well as additional financial resources, for ongoing growth and investments to protect the integrity and safety of AOG's natural gas system.
We take pride in being your local natural gas provider and look forward to continuing to serve families and businesses throughout the Fort Smith region for decades to come.
