FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Methodist Village Reaches Phase I Fundraising Goal

FORT SMITH, Ark. (December 4, 2018) – Methodist Village Senior Living, one of the region’s pioneer
providers of senior health services and independent living, has marked the completion of a
significant milestone in its fundraising efforts by surpassing a $4 million goal for Phase I. The
funds are in support of the current expansion project on the facility’s campus.

To date, Methodist Village has raised $4.130 million, including achievement of a challenge grant
from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation. The total raised comes from over 100 individual, corporate
and foundation donors.

“We are extremely grateful for everyone who has chosen to support this project with their gifts,”
said Phillip Bryant, Methodist Village Senior Living Board President. “Moving forward with this
project means we are enhancing our ability to care for our residents and offer the community a
leading-edge facility for all facets of senior care.”

The Methodist Village Senior Living Phase I expansion includes a 26-bed Assisted Living Center and
a 19-bed Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit. The development is expected to be completed in early 2019.

“As gratifying as this achievement is, it also marks our ability to now move into planning and
fundraising for Phase II,” said Melissa Curry, Methodist Village Senior Living CEO. “That will
consist of remodeling the current facility, which has not been updated since 1962, and will include
planning for a stand-alone, short-term rehabilitation center, with a projected 30-bed

capacity. Each piece is part of our carefully planned continuum of care for seniors throughout

the region.”
