Medical Marijuana in the Arkansas Workplace\n\n\n\nIn this session\, Stuart Jackson of Wright Lindsey Jennings will explore the implications of Arkansas' medical marijuana law in the workplace. Jackson will offer an overview of the current law and what to expect as medical marijuana becomes available\, including: \n\n \n\n	Protections for "qualifying patients" in the hiring\, termination and discipline processes\, and how employee protections under the FMLA and ADA might come into play\;\n	How to determine which jobs have safety-sensitive functions and what to do when a person in that type of job starts using medical marijuana\; and\n	A to-do list to prepare your workplace\, including questions to consider when developing a medical marijuana policy.\n\n \n\nJackson will also explore various scenarios businesses may face involving applicants and employees who are certified for medical marijuana.\n\n \n\nThis session is geared toward business owners\, HR professionals and upper-level management.  \n\n \n\nAbout the Presenter:\n\n \n\nStuart Jackson advises employers on compliance with civil rights laws and developing personnel policies (including medical marijuana policies)\, employment agreements and covenants not to compete.
