DESCRIPTION:This holiday run will be held at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith. Start and Finish will be at the Ben Geren Community Safe Shelter. Timed by Jaymax Race Timing. This run will benefit Project Compassion's Hearts of Gold  Christmas gifts program for Nursing Home residents without friends and family. Medals for 5K top 3 in each category and finisher medals. Register now for t-shirt and goodie bag. Register by Nov. 27 for guaranteed t-shirt size. Wear your Santa Hats\, Reindeer Antlers/Red Noses\, Ugly sweaters\, and Jingle Bells!\n\nHonor Dr. Stein by bringing new\, non-skid socks to donate to nursing home residents.\n\nThis event is celebrating the life of Dr. Eric J. Stein. He was a champion for the elderly\, and for pets - especially dogs. He was an ambassador of cheer\, humor\, and encouragement everywhere he went\, a courageous advocate for the less fortunate\, a passionate Board member for Project Compassion\, and a loyal\, life-long friend to those lucky enough to know him. He adored his family. He was an outstanding optometrist who truly enjoyed treating his patients. He also loved Hearts of Gold! Come out\, have fun\, and help us celebrate a life well lived. The Stein family is grateful for all who support this event in honor of Eric and they ask everyone to remember residents in long term care at the holidays and everyday.
