Volunteers: The Heart of The Salvation Army
Join Us in Making a Difference this Christmas Season
Fort Smith, AR (November 23, 2024) – This holiday season, The Salvation Army in the River Valley invites volunteers to join its mission of providing vital support to the community's most vulnerable members.
Volunteers are essential to the success of The Salvation Army's programs, especially during the holidays. The Salvation Army encourages those who have never volunteered to step forward, highlighting the unique chance to create lasting impact during this special time of year. Whether you have an hour, a morning, or a full day, we have a volunteer opportunity for you.
Be a Bell Ringer and Change Lives
The Salvation Army urgently needs volunteer bell ringers through December 24, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Donations raised through the iconic red kettles fund critical services such as food assistance, emergency aid, disaster response, and more throughout the year in Fort Smith and the surrounding area.
“For over 125 years, our red kettles have been a symbol of holiday goodwill,” said Captain Bradley Hargis. “Signing up to be a bell ringer has never been easier. Visit www.RegisterToRing.com, select your location, date, and time, and you’re all set! Whether you ring solo, with family, friends, co-workers, or a church group, everyone is welcome.”
The Army Behind the Army
“We greatly appreciate our dedicated volunteers,” Captain Hargis added. “We hope more people will consider giving just a few hours of their time to support the community through The Salvation Army. None of this would be possible without them. Volunteers truly are the army behind the Army.”
Visit www.RegistertoRing.com to sign up as a volunteer bell ringer. For more information about the Angel Tree, to donate, or to learn how you can support The Salvation Army this Christmas, go to SalvationArmyArkansas.org/FortSmith/ or call 479-783-6145.
