United Way of Fort Smith Area Power of the Purse

The proceeds from Power of the Purse are used to purchase books for local children from birth to age 5. They get a book a month mailed to their home at no cost to the parent. We have 2600 children on the program that receive books each month. We will have purses, handbags and accessories that those attending can bid on during a silent auction. Our speaker this year is Betsy Allen Manning She has been featured on FOX, CBS, ABC & NBC, and is recognized as one of the top TEDx speakers on leadership, a bestselling author & human behavior expert. She worked as a manager for multi billion dollar corporations; such as Disney, the Golden Globes events and five-star hotels and is a certified human behavior specialist; helping leaders improve trust, productivity & communication within their teams. Her leadership development programs have been recognized nationally and cover the 3 areas that are most integral for leaders to produce top results; high-level management skills for organizational effectiveness, high-quality traits for raising your influence, and high performing habits for achieving personal and team success. Betsy has used these strategies to train managers for Toshiba, Amway & The U.S. Department of Defense.
