Arvest Bank Honors Fort Smith Teachers During ‘We Love Teachers’ Initiative
Fort Smith, AR. (November 18, 2024) – Arvest Bank recently honored three local teachers during the bank’s annual “We Love Teachers” initiative, which awards area educators $500 each to help with the purchase of school supplies. The teachers were selected by partnering with school administration based on classroom needs. The “We Are Cherokee: Cherokee Freedmen and the Right to Citizenship” exhibit at the U.S. Marshals Museum details the story of Cherokee Freedmen and their descendants, including the legal fight descendants endured to win recognition as Cherokee Nation citizens. This exhibit uses images, artwork and stories contributed by Freedmen families and is on display now through January 2025 at the U.S. Marshals Museum in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
