Arvest Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Foundation

FORT SMITH, Ark. (Oct. 1, 2026) – The Arvest Foundation recently announced a $50,000 grant to the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Foundation to help support the university’s new Center for Mother and Infant Healthcare.
Supported by federal funding announced in February 2026, the center marks the first phase of the university’s broader Center for Health Innovation. Once completed, the new facility will feature high-fidelity simulation laboratories where students and clinicians can practice routine and complex obstetric and pediatric care, alongside an innovative public-access program designed to help expectant parents confidently prepare for labor and delivery.
Arvest associates joined Mike Jacimore, president of Arvest Bank - Fort Smith Region, to present the check on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to Terisa Riley, chancellor of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, and D. Antonio “Dean” Cantù, Ph.D., dean of the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences.
"The addition of this center is an exciting development for UAFS and the entire River Valley region,” said Jacimore. “The Arvest Foundation is focused on supporting local organizations working to improve the quality of life in our communities. This contribution demonstrates our commitment to this center and the crucial role it will play in both educating healthcare workers and supporting families.”
